About EG Organizing
My Journey: From Decorative Arts to Professional Organizing in NYC
I’m Emese (pronounced Ema-sheh), also known as Emi for simplicity. Let me share a bit about my background and the journey that led me to the world of professional organizing.
I was born in Transylvania, where Hungarian was my first language. At the age of nine my family moved to Vienna, Austria, and later to the United States. I eventually returned to Vienna to complete my studies, earning a degree in Textile Technical Machine Engineering.
Since art had always been close to my heart, when I moved to New York City, I began a new chapter as a decorative finisher and artist.
A Decorative Painting Career
Before founding EG Organizing, LLC, I dedicated 22 years to a decorative painting company, where I grew through many roles: artist, administrative- and studio assistant, purchasing agent, studio organizer, manager, and team leader. My work touched every part of the process, from writing proposals to overseeing projects that brought faux finishes to life in both residential and commercial spaces.
One of the most memorable experiences was leading my team during the painting and faux-finishing phase of the US Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis, MD. That project not only challenged and inspired me but also earned recognition in the form of a safety award from the Academy.
Throughout those years, I had the privilege of working alongside interior designers, architects, contractors, vendors, and clients from all over the world.
These collaborations sharpened my communication skills and taught me how to anticipate and meet clients’ needs with care and professionalism.
They also strengthened my ability to stay organized and adaptable—skills that became the foundation for building and running my own business.
International Ventures
My career path carried me not only across the United States but also around the globe. I had the privilege of working in several European countries, as well as in Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, the Caribbean, Panama, and Puerto Rico. Each new place brought its own culture, challenges, and ways of working, which broadened my perspective and taught me the value of adaptability, communication, and creativity in any setting.
I’ve always felt at ease in organized spaces and realized early on how much more clearly we can think, focus, and accomplish when our surroundings are in order. That understanding guided me toward becoming a professional organizer, where I can share those benefits with others. My goal is to help you through de-cluttering, home organizing, or office organizing - removing obstacles, restoring clarity, and making room for a calmer, more stress-free life.
Becoming a Professional Organizer
Today, I am proud to be a Certified Professional Organizer based in New York City.
My love for neatness and structure has always been part of who I am - whether it was reorganizing living spaces, setting up work areas on projects, or finding ways to make time more efficient. What started as a natural instinct eventually grew into my true calling: helping people create spaces that are functional, calm, and supportive.
My Philosophy
At the heart of my work is a simple but meaningful goal: to enhance quality of life.
I approach each project with patience, empathy, and without judgment, knowing that every person’s story and space are unique.
I’m fluent in English, Hungarian, and German, which allows me to connect with clients from different backgrounds with ease.
If life feels chaotic and overwhelming, I’d be honored to work alongside you to restore order, ease stress, and bring a sense of calm into your everyday life.
